FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHAT IS A WAX MELT?

Wax melts are made from fragranced wax much like a candle but are more cost effective because unlike candles they have no wick, the wax does not evaporate – the long-lasting scent slowly dissipates.  Once you can no longer smell the fragrance, you can dispose of the used wax and start a new melt.

We make them in a large variety of novelty shapes and sizes to suit every occasion.  Simply pop the required amount into your wax burner (either tea light or electric) and as the wax melts the fragrance is released into your room.

WHY CHOOSE A WAX MELT?

Wax melts are a quick and easy way to change a fragrance in accordance with your mood.

You can also use them to eliminate nasty odours and make your home smell just the way you want it!

Wax melts are inexpensive so you can have a nice selection of your favourite fragrances without breaking the bank.

You can even choose to have burners in multiple rooms with a different fragrance in each.

WHAT TYPE OF WAX DO YOU USE?

All of our wax melts are handmade using a high quality 100% natural soy wax, offering a premium quality finish and a longlasting high scent throw.

WHAT TYPE OF WAX BURNER SHOULD I USE?  DO SOUTH AROMAS SELL THEM?

It is a personal preference, whether it be a classic tea light burner or an electric one, our wax melts work perfectly in both.

If you have a small oil burner please check the product guide before using it for wax melts to ensure it is suitable for wax. Not all oil burners are suitable for wax melts because they tend to be a lot smaller and the flame is a lot closer to the top bowl.  It is recommended that 4 hours tea lights are used and let the wax cool down for a while before replacing with a new tea light candle.  Using an 8 hour tealight can cause the wax to become too hot and cause damage to your burner.

Yes, we do sell wax burners - check out our 'wax burners' section in our shop.

Please note: our wax melts may not melt as efficiently in {Scentsy} burners as they are designed not to get warm enough to melt the wax, their wax has been made to have an extremely low melt point.

HOW DO I REMOVE THE WAX FROM MY BURNER WHEN I WANT TO CHANGE THE FRAGRANCE?

There are a couple of ways to remove/change the wax from your burner.  If the wax is cold and still a solid you can begin to warm the wax burner and after a minute or so you can gently and carefully slide the wax out of the bowl (if using a tea light burner make sure you extinguish the tea light before proceeding with removing the wax) or if the wax is melted in the burner, simply soak it up using a cotton wool ball/pad.  Please take care when removing melted wax as it will be very hot.

HOW SHOULD I STORE MY WAX MELTS?

We recommend keeping your wax melts in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight
